Description

In this webinar, experts in reproductive health will describe the principles of teratology used in determining risk for exposure during pregnancy. They will also discuss selected disinfectants and antiseptics approved for use against COVID-19 and how they might affect pregnancy and lactation.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the difference between sanitizer and disinfectants
  • Describe what is known regarding potential exposure and adverse reproductive outcomes for two common hand sanitizers: alcohols and benzalkonium chloride
  • List at least three principles of teratology
  • Identify the background risk for major birth defects in the United States
  • Identify appropriate risk statements based on available human studies
